MOORE COUNTY, N.C. — A man will spend his holidays behind bars after a shooting in Moore County.
Sheriff's deputies charged Carlos McLaughlin, 24, with felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. Investigators say Friday, a driver flagged down a deputy and told him he had a gunshot victim in his car.
The deputy said the driver told him that Patrick Stubbs, 28, had been shot after a fight at the Carolina Lakes subdivision near Carthage. The driver said he needed help to get the victim to the hospital.
McLaughlin is now in jail under a $25,000 bond. He is scheduled to be in court Jan. 4.
