YANCEYVILLE, N.C. – A 13-year-old Caswell County boy died after jumping into a water reservoir late Tuesday afternoon.

The reservoir is located behind the Yanceyville water plant off Badgett Sister's Parkway.

911 operators got a call around 5:15 p.m. but deputies weren't able to find the teen because of the depth and temperature of the water. A dive team later located the boy in about 24 feet of water.

He is identified as Damien Farmer, a Dillard Middle School student. The school has additional counselors on hand to help students deal with the loss. ClientIP: UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
