RALEIGH — Emotions were high Tuesday during testimony for the trial of a Wake County man accused of murdering a Domino's Pizza manager.

The jury first heard from Dan Ring, the victim's father, and then the defendant's ex-girlfriend 18-year-old Anna Painter. She told jurors Travis Sherman had asked her to make up an alibi saying she had picked him up from work the night Kenny Ring was robbed and beaten.

She said she decided not to do it. When Ring's father took the stand, he recalled the day his son died.

"We found out late that Sunday afternoon, the CCU nurse came out crying and said that the pressures in his head had gone up too far and couldn't do anything else," said victim's father Dan Ring.

Attorneys for Travis Sherman continue to argue that their client was not at the store the night of the incident. A fingerprint expert testified Monday saying they could not find Sherman's fingerprints at the Dominos.

Another man, Nico Bowers, is also charged in Ring's death ClientIP: UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
