FAYETTEVILLE—A Cumberland County jury has found Mario McNeill guilty of first-degree murder in the November 2009 death of 5-year old Shaniya Davis.
The jury also found McNeill guilty of sexual offense of a child, indecent liberties with a minor,
sexual servitude with a minor, human trafficking of a minor and first-degree kidnapping.
He was found not guilty of rape of a child.
The defense wrapped up their closing arguments Wednesday morning, and McNeill chose not to testify. Defense attorneys did not call any witnesses and never presented any evidence.
The prosecution gave their closing remarks on Tuesday and said that the evidence and testimony presented over the last four weeks clearly showed that McNeill Kidnapped, rapped, and killed Davis.
