RALEIGH --The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services reported an additional 7 flu- related deaths in their weekly update. This brings the total number of deaths as a result of the flu to 64.
Last week, it reported 10 new deaths in our state from the flu, bringing the total number of people killed this season to 56.
Most of the victims have been between 25 and 49, the age group that's vulnerable to H1N1, the dominant strain of this season's virus.
The season usually peaks around January and February.
