BOLIVIA, N.C. -- Brunswick County residents took some time out of their day on Monday to speak with Sen. Kay Hagan.
The stop was part of the senator's "Conversations with Kay" tour, an initiative Hagan started in order to spend one-on-one time with constituents.
Residents brought up a number of issues including job creation and funding for higher education.
Hagan said meeting with community members across the state remains a top priority.
"What is great about it for me is I truly get to hear from people about what their concerns are and then I can give them the opportunity to hear 10 minutes of what we have done in Washington lately," Hagan said.
Residents were also able to receive assistance with federal agency issues such as passports, the IRS and Veteran's Affairs.
