FAYETTEVILLE--More than 600 students spent Saturday morning at a Winter College Fair and Expo in Fayetteville.

It took place at the gym of First Baptist Church Grace Place. Fayetteville State University's Upward Bound program organized the event.

"Every student deserves the opportunity to learn about college and attend college and we are happy to provide that for our community" said program coordinator Nikki Massey.

More than 30 Universities were on hand to answer questions from students and parents including how to pay for school.

"There is so much free money out there so we want to make sure they know they can apply for those scholarships but a lot of students don't know the opportunities" said Methodist University admissions counselor Whitney Moore.

Moore suggests students talk with the schools they are interested in to learn about financial options. This is the 13th year for the event. ClientIP: UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
