CARY—Duke University alumnus Ken Starr stopped in Cary Thursday to give his thoughts on higher education in America.
Starr, the current president of Baylor University and former federal judge, touched on the issues and challenges universities and community colleges face.
He also spent some time speaking on its success and what administrators are doing to ensure its accessibility. Starr noted how higher education can help lead to success in all professions.
"How are we making sure that high education which is so precious and has accomplished so much in terms of building what I see as the culture of freedom as well as the culture of prosperity is available to everyone,” said Starr.
Peter Hans, UNC chairman on the UNC Board of Governors, also spoke at the event.
